PRAISES AND PRAYERS "The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." James 3:17 PRAISES What a great host family Brian and Sherrie are for Vedat and for the numerous activities that they are providing for him while in their home this summer.
Vedat had a great time at the beach with Brian, Sherrie, and Sherrie's family. Vedat eventually went into the cold water on his own, walked on the boardwalk with his braces and arm crutches, played board games, played cards and many other activities.
He also had an outing where he got to do some horse back riding where he rode a horse without much assistance.
Brian works with Vedat each day to do two pages in a reading comprehension work book and practices math with Vedat as they walk together outside.
PRAYERS Please be in prayer for Vedat's return home. For several months, detailed planning and data collection has been underway about Vedat’s return home. This included Pastor Bill and Matt Spainhour traveling to Montenegro in April to collect information. The plan for Vedat’s return home was presented to the Elders last Sunday. The plan was accepted on July 11th, and September 28th has been set as the day when Vedat will travel home accompanied by Pastor Bill and Matt Spainhour. Vedat was told about the plan on July 16th. Pastor Bill will meet with Vedat's Mother when he is in Montenegro on a mission trip leaving Wednesday (the 21st).
Please pray for a new wheel chair. Vedat has outgrown his current wheel chair. He desperately needs a new chair sized for his current size and some likely growth in the next year or two. A request to Shriner’s donors was made last August, but no new wheel chair has appeared thus far. Please pray for a new chair to be donated. If it is not provided, please pray for the Lord to provide the means for a new wheel chair to be purchased locally before Vedat departs.
Pray that Vedat continues his daily routine of exercises and stretches to maintain his physical condition. And pray for the God's hand to heal him from this spinal cord injury so he may walk again.
Pray for all the many parts of this plan to come together as God would have them.
Please pray for Vedat as he begins to process his future and for his Mom and family to begin preparing for Vedat's soon returning home.
Please pray for WISDOM for everyone involved in seeking God's help to make this happen in a way that will honor God as there are many moving parts in the plan for Vedat to return home to his family.
Please pray for Matt Spainhour as he will be accompanying Vedat with Pastor Bill to Montenegro and he will stay with Vedat for about three months to help him adjust.
Vedat will leave Brian and Sherrie's home the end of August to go to the Steve and Susan McCarthy’s until his departure. Matt will come and stay at the McCarthy’s to learn about the care for Vedat. We know that God has great plans for Vedat. Pray that God will not let us grow weary but stay the course and finish strong.
